Animal loving fundraisers have smashed their target when they raised more than £1,000 for charity.
Steve Henshall’s ‘American style’ fourth annual illuminations, on Sidney Road, Southport, was held to raise funds for Freshfields Animal Rescue and incorporated a seven metre tree, animated screen, singing faces, Christmas stocking, snowflakes and trees, synchronised to music played through a loudspeaker.
Display designer and creator, Steve Henshall, 56, who works for an industrial ice cream machine firm, built the display with help from his neighbour, Peter, using pixels imported from China and bespoke lighting controllers from America and Australia – and their hard work paid off as the illuminations brought in £1,159.50.
