Sickening wait for ambulance after drunk woman suffers serious head injury.
A woman in her thirties suffering from severe head trauma has faced a shocking hour long wait for an ambulance in Birkdale Village (Sundaly 20 August).
The woman, who was drunk at the time, is believed to have stumbled, fell and hit her head on the pavement outside Verve bar.
The shock of the wound, combined with the effects of alcohol, led the woman to vomit profusely as people around her argued with emergency services line managers over why the ambulance was taking such a long time to reach her.
She was comforted by fellow drinkers and bar staff while waiting and eventually a first responder arrived to give emergency medical treatment.
However it was still another thirty minutes before an ambulance arrived to take her to nearby Southport hospital.
