How many Southport residents made their way to London to show the President of the USA what they think of him?
Councillor Tony Dawson, who was in Westminster on Friday said:
“In several hours on the streets I met a couple of people from Manchester who I had not seen for fifteen years but I did not see anyone I recognised from Southport. It was exactly the same on the Anti-Iraq war demonstration sixteen years ago.”
“The breadth of issues which demonstrators had with the racist, sexist misogynist warmonger President was quite breathtaking.”
“The largest contingent I encountered were those concerned with the environment and Trumps complaceny concerning the destruction of the planet. But the most impressive were the individual women with their hand made placards protesting with great dignity over Donald Trump’s wish to set the cause of females back a century or more.”
