Shops forced to close after power cut hits Southport town centre

There is a power cut affecting the PR8 postcode area of Southport.

A spokesperson for SP Energy Networks said:

“We did not know in advance there would be a power cut, and became aware of this at 1.30PM.

Our next available engineer will attend site and the team will work to get your power back on as quickly and as safely as possible. We expect the power to be restored by 4:30PM.

Once they arrive, or when we receive any update regarding the cause, we will be able to provide you with more information. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.
