Southport retailers have come together to open late on Thursday the 19th of December and Southport BID will support the event with live music, choirs and street entertainment.
Shops on Chapel Street, Tulketh Street and Lord Street, alongside independents on Wesley Street and in Wayfarer’s Arcade will open until 8pm for the night. Both high street favourites and local independents will be ensuring there are great in store events and offers to make the night special.
The event, which hopes to encourage people to shop local this Christmas, will host great offers from more ongoing sales at Debenhams and festive mince pies and Christmas drinks at Waterstones to a Christmas craft fair at Doodle’s of Wesley Street.
Shoppers can also expect to see pop up street theatre performers and brilliant performances from Queenscourt Hospice’s Light up for Christmas Choir in an evening of shopping and family fun. There will be two great live bands playing on the Chapel Street stage, along with SONG talent academy who will perform in Boots and on the Chapel Street stage.
Grant Tindell, General Manager of Flannels and BID Board Director says “Retailers came to us to ask for support in opening for a late night shopping event, following great sales increases at our last event. We are really excited for the evening as we have some brilliant entertainment planned and to create a festive, family atmosphere. We all hope to see lots of people in town, shopping local and support our high street and independents!”
The event will take place between 5pm and 8pm on Thursday the 19th of December and restaurants and bars will be open for family meals or festive drinks after shopping. Families can also use the opportunity to enjoy hunting the Nutcrackers at night as they shop!
