SHHHH!!! – Botanic Road Bar and Eatery will be open Weds 23rd November 2016
Owners, James Birchall and Claire Doran are pleased to announce that Botanic Road Bar and Eatery is scheduled to open its doors on Wednesday 23rd of November. Botanic Road will engage with a similar business model as James’ first venture, Tea Rooms Birkdale, opening for breakfasts and lunches throughout the day, then moving to fine wines, cocktails and artisan beers of an evening.
Botanic Road will be open from 9:30 am – 11pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. 9:30- 12pm Friday and Saturday. Food serving hours are between 9:30am – 4:30 pm Tuesday – Saturday and 9:30am- 8pm on Sundays.
James says, “Sundays will be a great day at Botanic Road, debuting our Sunday set menu served from 12pm till 8pm, complete with live music, it’s certainly going to be a relaxing venue for a lazy afternoon with friends and family enjoying good food and wine” Chefs, Dan Ashcroft and Mike Marshall make a welcome addition to the kitchen. Both having a vast amount of experience in successful establishments such as Bistrot Verite and The Barking Frog; combined they make a great team. Claire states, “Dan and Mike have been working very hard for months preparing and creating the dishes for the menu’s and are very eager to get started.” The menu that runs Tuesday to Sunday ranging from breakfast, brunch and lunches, from smaller bites such as Prawn tacos to heartier mains such as Pork belly and burger sliders.
The four-month project has transformed the inside of the building to something somewhat unrecognisable. Claire says, “After a long four months of planning we are excited to finally see it all coming together. Through spending a lot of time in Churchtown Village throughout this project, we are both delighted to be situated in the heart of such a beautiful village.” The downstairs of Botanic Road will include the bar area and elegant seating for dining and drinks. Upstairs has been designed as a snug area where James and Claire encourage their customers to go up and relax amongst the lounge chairs with a bottle of wine, watch the football or catch up with a group of friends. This area will also be available to book out for private functions in the New Year.
