Dane Ellard (24) of no fixed abode will be taking his Christmas dinner at Her Majesty’s Pleasure tomorrow, and next Christmas, after being handed a sentence of two years and 8 months in jail for a number of offences in the Southport area between August and December. They include:
* 8 thefts from shops, including the theft of a poppy charity box that was stolen from the counter of a shop on the morning of Remembrance Sunday
* 2 public order offences where shop staff were threatened
* A burglary and theft from a house
* Aggravated vehicle taking
* Driving while disqualified
A second male, Peter Croft of Central Avenue, is also due to attend court to answer 4 charges of theft and 2 public order offences.
