Crowd trouble marred Southport FC’s first run out of the season, after a number of visiting Blackpool fans stormed through a security gate.
A number of visiting supporters broke through a manned gate in response to shouts and chants from a section of young SFC fans.
The match was temporarily halted by the referee while order was restored.
Southport FC’s Connor Woods leapt to the defense of members of the home crowd, preventing a Blackpool fan from throwing an object in their direction.
OTS supporters witnessed a number of fans being ejected following the disorder, which saw a number of security fences thrown.
Play eventually resumed without any further incident, with the match ending in a 2-0 victory to the visitors.
