Funding is secured through the private, voluntary and public sector to encourage people to shop local in the run up to Christmas.
A spokesman for Sefton Council said: “Christmas lights switch-ons always prove to be popular events and are a great opportunity for local people and families to get into the festive spirit.
“We hope plenty of people will come out and support their local traders in the run up to Christmas and shop local, and we are very grateful for the hard work and community spirit which goes into these important events.”
