Spring fayre loaded – green-fingered Angela Green and Billy Moss get ready for the New Leaf event.

Sefton residents are being invited to a spring fayre with a difference in Southport next week.

The event at the New Leaf garden centre on Rotten Row will feature a wide range of items created by people who use the services of the borough’s leading adult social care provider, New Directions.

The spring fayre will take place at New Leaf’s Park Lodge site from 11am to 3pm on Saturday 11th May.

Organisers say there will be a wide variety of seasonal garden items on offer, including colourful hanging baskets, bedding plants and filled tubs, pots and other containers.

Customers will also be able to choose from a wide range of gardening gifts, wooden craft items and upcycled goods.

Refreshments will be available, and the event will also feature music from live band Riverside Ukulele and an art exhibition of work produced by people who attend New Directions services.

New Leaf Project Co-ordinator, Angela Green, commented: “Everyone here has been working extremely hard to prepare for the spring fayre, so we’re hoping for a big turnout on the day.

“Visitors will have the chance to buy many unique items that are only available here at New Leaf.

“And as well as having the chance to choose from this range of unusual items, customers will have the satisfaction of knowing that any money they spend will be ploughed back into providing more resources and opportunities for the people who attend New Leaf,” added Angela.
