Residents on Norwood Road say they are being ignored over a growing pothole.
The huge gaping hole leading to Meols Cop station has been growing in size for over a month and temporary barriers have been put up to stop cars driving into it.
But furious residents who are spending hours navigating their cars around the hole day after day say no matter how many times they complain, the council have ignored them and have not done anything to fix it.
Fixing potholes is an important part of Damien Moore’s plan for Southport, which is why he is asking residents to report any they see to Sefton Council.
After meeting the chief executive, Margaret Carney, he was told that reports from Southport residents would be inspected and reported.
This year, the government provided the council with nearly £500,000 in funding for potholes in two instalments following a difficult winter.
Yet Mr. Moore felt there was a disparity between Bootle and Southport, and our town wasn’t seeing this money on its streets.
I’d like to thank Margaret Carney for promising to be so responsive to my constituents’, Mr. Moore said.
‘Repairing our roads is an important part of renewing the town.
If everyone reports them when they see them, we can make a real difference to Southport.’
