Sefton charity seeks brave team members for cathedral abseil event.
A Sefton charity is seeking supporters with a head for heights to take part in its latest high-profile fundraising event.
Sefton 4 Good will have a group of volunteers abseiling down the outside of Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral next month, and is now looking for more brave team members to take part in the 150ft free-fall drop above the vast great west door of the iconic building.
The charity abseil event takes place between 5.30pm and 6.30pm on Saturday 18th August.
Sefton 4 Good was established by Waterloo-based charity Sefton CVS to make it easier for borough residents and businesses to support local good causes by giving their money, resources, time and skills.
Money raised is distributed via a grant scheme which is particularly aimed at smaller organisations, or collaborative projects that include small groups.
Sefton 4 Good staff are hoping for a particularly good response to next month’s daredevil fundraiser, and look forward to welcoming more intrepid volunteers willing to take on the challenge and to seek sponsorship support for their efforts.
Commenting on the project Sefton CVS Senior Citizenship and Volunteering Officer, Mike Howlett, said: “This event is a big fundraising opportunity for us, so we’re hoping that Sefton residents will get behind our volunteers and help us collect as much money as possible for local good causes.
“And of course we’re particularly grateful to the brave team members who will actually complete the abseil, and wish them all well.”
