The Secondary School League Tables have been released this week. How did schools in Southport, perform?
The Department for Education released the secondary school league tables this week.
This years league tables are the first to include the results of the harder, new maths and English GCSE exams.
In the past, school league tables were based on how many pupils at the school received five or more GCSEs at grade A* – C.
The latest school league tables use different measures called Progress 8 and Attainment 8. The Progress 8 measure shows how well a pupil performed compared to the level they were at the end of Key Stage 2.
Attainment 8 shows how pupils at a school performed in up to eight GCSE exams.
Schools are graded in the following way;
Well above average – Above average – Average – Below Average – Well below average
