Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts groups from across the North West held their annual St Georges Day Parade in Southport today.
Robert Baden-Powell, founder of the Scout Association, choose St George to be the movement’s Patron Saint because he felt the qualities of the legendary Roman soldier were the same qualities that reflect a good Scout.
The group marched from Princes Park to the Promenade and back, where they renewed their Scout Promise.
The Scout Association, formed in 1910, provides activities for nearly half a million young people in the UK.
