Police have launched an investigation after a man reportedly tried to groom young Southport school pupils through a social media app.
Police are now investigating the account in an attempt to identify the male.
He also sent children sexually explicit images.
Detectives have been made aware that a ‘large number’ of pupils as young as 13 and 14 have received unwarranted approaches by an adult male via social media app Snapchat.
The messages have been analysed by teachers and police, with the content being described as ‘grooming.’
In a further shocking twist it’s understood the male also sent sexually explicit photographs to some schoolchildren.
OTS News understands the incident is not isolated to a particular high school and that pupils in different schools throughout Southport have been victims of this behaviour.
