School boy knocked down at busy junction in Southport

The emergency services were called to the junction of Eastbourne Road and Claremont Road at around 4pm following a 999 call.

A Vauxhall Corsa knocked a school boy down at the busy junction.

A witness said:

“A young school boy has been knocked over and he has badly hurt his knee”.

“He was treated in the ambulance then transferred Ormskirk hospital”.

“The female driver of the Vauxhall Corsa was questioned in the back of the police car before she was released”.

“A pensioner wearing a high visibility “Storm consultancy” jacket took it upon himself to direct traffic around the scene, he did a stirling job”.
