Santander to close its Churchtown branch in September.

Santander on Preston New Road bank will close for good on the 28th September.

The Natwest and  Lloyds TSB has already closed leaving both buildings empty.

Santander divisional managing director, Richard Owen wrote to customers to tell them the bad news.

Mr Owen said: “I understand this may be a significant change and I’m sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

“We’ve carried out a detailed review of the changing needs of our customers, the location of other Santander branches nearby and the availability of alternative ways customers can bank with us.”

Churchtown’s Santander customers who want to go to the bank will now have to travel to the Southport town centre branch which offers no outside parking.
