The annual Salvation Army Christmas Present Appeal has been launched at their church and community centre in Southport.
Members of the organisation, based on Shakespeare Street, are aiming to ‘ensure that no child in the town will wake up without a present this Christmas Day.’
They are appealing to members of the community to add an extra toy to their shopping list this year so families strug- gling to buy a gift for their children can make sure there is something for them to open.
Anyone who wants to help can drop a new, unwrapped toy for children and young people, aged from a baby to 16 years old, to the collection point at the church and community centre between now and Moday, December 9.
The team will then sort and distribute the gifts to children and families in the area through its own networks, local groups, and social services.
