Rubbish blaze could be arson, fire crews say

Fire crews have rushed to the scene of a suspected arson attempt near Birkdale cop.

Fire engines from Merseyside Fire and Rescue were called to scrubland near to Birkdale this morning after a large fire started at a prominent flytipping hotspot.

The fire is now thought to be under control and an investigation is now underway to determine the cause, with arson currently suspected by officers on scene.
