St Luke’s Road has been closed between Sussex Road and Hart Street after a HGV spilt oil on the junction with Kensington Road following a collision.
Officers remain on scene and a cleanup crew from Sefton Council has been requested to attend.
Police were called to St Luke’s Road at 11.45am following reports of a road traffic collision between a HGV and a Ford Fusion.
One woman was treated by paramedics.
Officers at the scene told OTS News the road had to be closed because of the street’s gradient, making it potentially unsafe for vehicles, particularly motorcyclists.
Traffic from Ash Street is being diverted down Hart Street. There is no access from Sussex Road and vehicles on Kensington Road are being asked to turnaround.
