Rockin’ for the homeless at Birkers this Sunday

A fantastic charity event takes place this Sunday 8th May at Birkers Bar & Grill in aid of ‘Supporting Homeless Everywhere’, a local charity formed last year by Mighty Radio presenter, Fiona Aldred.

Mighty Breakfast show host, Andrew Hegarty, will host the event from 1pm which kicks off with Sean Connolly’s superb Elvis Presley tribute.

Canadian rock band, ‘April Moon’ take to the stage at around 2.30pm and the Liverpool v Watford match will be screened from 4pm with a charity head shave taking place at half-time.

At 6pm, the raffle will be drawn with some fantastic prizes to give away, kindly donated by local businesses such as MD Travel and ‘Naughty but Nice’ sandwich bar, to name just two!

TV producer and director, David Lewis Richardson, (Shameless, Hollyoaks, Eastenders) will then take to the stage to talk about his career behind the camera, followed by excellent local band, ‘Fag Ash Lil’.

Former Everton player, Ian Snodin, will be hosting an auction of Toffees’ memorabilia at around 8pm with the North West’s finest Led Zeppelin tribute band, ‘Led Zed’ wowing the crowds to finish the night in fine style.

There’ll be a BBQ taking place throughout the day and a ‘Mr Whippy’ ice cream van will be on-hand to help keep everyone cool in the warm weather – kids are welcome during the afternoon.

Entry is just £5 on the door from 6pm with donations welcome during the afternoon.

This event is not to be missed and all funds raised will go towards making the lives of local homeless people better.
