Road closure after wagon hits railway bridge

Police have closed off part of Butts Lane after a wagon hit the railway bridge.

Nobody was injured in the accident which involved a single van which struck the railway bridge between Butts Lane and Crowland Industrial Estate late this afternoon.

Police and council workers were called to secure the area and make sure the bridge was structurally sound following the collision.

The bridge is a hotspot for accidents and lorry drivers are often caught out by the low height of the railway bridge.
