Road Closure, Marine Drive

It’s a beautiful day in ‘Sunny Southport’ and that means the roads are busy with traffic on two wheels and four, coming into the town.

*ROAD CLOSED ON MARINE DRIVE (NORTHBOUND) AT THE ESPLANADE ROUNDABOUT – ONE WAY TRAFFIC (SOUTHBOUND) BETWEEN THE PIER AND THE ESPLANADE ROUNDABOUT*

This is leading to tailbacks on the Promenade and Lord Street, travelling IN to town and tailbacks on Marine drive travelling OUT of town. Hot temperatures and tailbacks can lead to hot tempers so please, try to be patient and don’t take unnecessary risks.

Bikers, be aware that motorcycle thieves have been operating in Southport this week. If you park your bike up on the roadside, always use a sturdy chain, D lock or disc brake lock to immobilise your pride and joy. Report any suspicious activity or people who look out of place near to motorcycles.

Please help us out by parking on the tiled area at the carousel and keep the tarmac area near to the road clear for pedestrians, wheelchair/mobility scooter users. No one should be forced to walk into the road due to bikes being parked there.
