Sandgrounders played host to Macclesfield Town this afternoon in the Vanarama Conference.

Danny Whitaker (Macclesfield Town) smashed home a header from the right side of the six yard box to the high centre of the net.

 Richard Brodie levelled the match on 76 minutes with a right footed shot from the left side of the box straight into the net, from a James Caton cross.

Southport remain one point above relegation.
