GPs in Southport are reminding people with appointments at the Royal Liverpool hospital that they will no longer be seen at the decaying old city centre building.
The Liverpool Royal outpatient departments will be one of the first services to move in to a brand new ‘super-hospital’ nearby after years of building work.
GPs in Southport have sent text messages to their patients with hospital appointments at the Royal to remind them to go to the new hospital building as of October 4th.
From Tuesday 4 October, the new outpatient department will be operational. Patients will be notified in their appointment letters which clinic they should attend.
Staff and volunteers will be on hand to assist with any queries or wayfinding.
St Paul’s Eye Unit’s main outpatient activity in the old Royal will week commencing 3 October, with emergency outpatients closing on Sunday 9 October.
St Paul’s Eye Unit will be fully live in the new Royal from Monday 10 October.
