Campaigners have been celebrating a ‘reprieve’ after Arriva announced that they will continue to run the 47 bus through Ince Blundell until at least January, 2020.
As part of the Bus Strategy, a Merseytravel review took place with changes due to come into effect on September 1 and Arriva planned to alter and axe bus routes across Sefton to ‘improve reliability.’
The plans were to stop the 47 bus service from travelling through Ince Blundel to save four to five minutes on the journey time – but passengers claimed that the pro- posed changes would have a ‘detrimental effect.’
