A Southport man who crashed his car during a high speed police chase has appeared in court.
Robert Ian Wall, 29, of Victory Avenue, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving when he appeared at Sefton Magistrates Court.
Olivia Murray, prosecuting, told the court that police pulled up behind the defendant after observing him acting suspiciously.
Ms Murray said, “He sped off. Police illuminated their blue lights signalling him to stop. He failed to stop and a pursuit took place between Curzon Road and Janes Brook Road.
He was driving between 50 and 60 mph in a 20 mph zone and entered a residential area driving at that speed away from police and failed to give way at a number of junctions.
The magistrates ordered a pre-sentence probation report and sent the matter to Liverpool Crown Court where Wall was told to appear on April 17.
They also imposed an interim driving ban.
