Remembrance service for 75th Anniversary of the D-Day Landings

Remembrance service for The Mayor of Sefton, Cllr June Burns, will attend a Remembrance Service organised by Netherton and Sefton Royal British Legion, for the 75thAnniversary of the D-Day Landings.

The service to remember those who fought and lost their lives in the D-Day conflict, will take place on Thursday, June 6 at 11am at Bootle War Memorial.

Mayor of Sefton, Cllr June Burns, said: “I am very proud to be joining people from across Sefton in paying my respects and remembering this historic battle. I would encourage as many people as possible to come along on what is a very poignant and important day

“Remembrance services give us the opportunity to spend some time to pause and reflect on the sacrifices made by our brave service men and women over the years in various conflicts.

“We owe a huge debt to every single one of the fallen for the peace and freedom we currently enjoy today. The service will give us all a chance to reflect on this and I encourage as many people as possible to attend.”
