A kind hearted Samaritan from Liverpool has travelled to Southport to surprise a local landlady after she was viciously beaten.
Annie McTaggart, landlady of the Wellington Pub on Eastbank Street made regional headlines after she was savagely beaten in an unprovoked attack earlier this year.
While her assailant was given community service, Annie has been left to pick up the pieces and fend for herself following the assault.
However there has been an outpouring of support and affection for Annie since her story broke and one man, Allan Frim, from Liverpool, made the journey to Southport today to give her a box of chocolates and flowers.
Allan said Annie’s story had touched him and he wanted to give some kind of gesture as a token of support.
An emotional Annie said she was delighted by the gift and thanked everyone for their well wishes during her recovery
