Rotting food and general waste is overflowing into a London Street car park.
A London Street shop worker said:
“I have seen vermin running along the wall and taking food from the bags of rubbish which have been there for over a month now”.
‘The businesses along London Street and Lord Street are stacking waste against the bins and therefore it doesn’t get taken away.
“Last week I contacted the environmental health to report this mess and still nothing has been done. What are we paying council tax for?”
Reasons for Control: Immense damage can be caused by rats feeding in shops and homes due to both quantities of food consumed, contamination by faeces and urine, and damage by gnawing. Contamination and possible introduction of microorganisms, which can cause food poisoning, such as Salmonella, make this rodent a major public health pest. Remember rats carry Weil’s disease (Leptospirosis), which can cause serious illness.
