Rats scare Sunday supermarket shoppers

Shoppers at a popular town centre supermarket screamed in shock this afternoon after encountering rats scuttling around their car.

Louise Prendagast says she returned to her car parked at the Victoria Park end of Morrison’s Car Park in Southport today and encountered what she described as a ‘massive’ rat running from under her vehicle.

“I shrieked so loud I’m sure one of the trolley boys heard me. It was lucky I’d already put the shopping in the boot because I would have dropped it.

“It’s just not something you expect to see especially in the daytime.

“It ran from under my car and off into the bushes by rotten row.”
