Rail misery sets Southport commuters off the rails

Furious Northern commuters say they have been let down by the train company, false hope by their MP and empty promises.

Despite claims by Southport MP Damien Moore that he is continuously fighting for a better Northern service in the town, commuters say the service is worse than ever.

One furious commuter said they were stranded in Southport for three hours today after constant cancellations.

They said “Today, I went to southport train station at 3:00pm to get the 3.25pm train, I got there and 5 northern rail trains were cancelled in a row, leaving me stranded in southport for 3 hours. The train staff did nothing and there was no bus replacement services offered.

Honestly disgusted with the way the northern service is running this year, there has been nothing but disruptions for people like me who commute every single day to work.

I hope some support from other people like yourself and readers will make this company sort themselves out as people pay a LOT of money to travel to and from work everyday just to get the train cancelled.”
