Racial slur etched into Southport sands

6th March 2020

Horrified pensioners have complained to the police after an offensive racial slur was drawn onto southport’s beach.

The incredibly offensive term is thought to have been gouged into the sand by a group of youths but it has been reported to Merseyside Police as a hate crime.

OTS was sent the images by day tripper Kenneth Finlay who was walking along the pier with his wife and saw the word.

He said “it’s disgusting my wife was shocked and I had to call the police to let them know it’s clearly a hate crime and anybody who is a person of colour would be heartbroken to see this”
