Kings Hey Drive, Churchtown had a special visitor yesterday.
With the UK’s lockdown not showing any signs of being eased up any time soon streets across Southport have been organising their own whatsapp and facebook pages, organising their own activities to keep the families and children entertained using social distancing measures.
The Kings Hey Drive Whatsapp group organised a fancy dress street party on Saturday and invited a very special guest to say hi to everyone.
Using the government social distancing measures the street residents all dressed up in fancy dress, including Audrey Hepburn, The Joker, Disney Princesses, a Skeleton and many more. Then at precisely 3pm Children In Need’s Pudsey Bear made an appearance to say hi to everyone.
Marc Foreman, Ways & Means Officer for the Southport Hesketh Round Table adds “It was a great activity to keep the kids entertained and break the boredom of the lockdown measures in place”.
Katherine, the Whatsapp group admin explains that “every street resident is looking after each other in these unprecedented times and we all shop locally and try and assist each other and those in need self-isolating on the street.”
Katrina from Southport Rhythm Time business added “It certainly put a smile on all the residents faces on our street, especially my Archie and Lilly”.
