After earning a late draw midweek, Southport will be looking to continue their recent improved form when they head to Leamington on Saturday.
Liam Watson’s side showed great character against Brackley on Tuesday night, as a last minute Jack Doyle goal earned the Port a point.
The target now for Southport is to translate their improved performances into a victory.
Meanwhile this weekend’s opponents, Leamington, are yet to get a single win this calendar year in the Vanarama National League North, with five defeats and two draws.
Their last victory came at the end of December, when they beat Hereford 1-2.
At that current time they were in a decent run of form but have since slipped to 16th in the league table.
The Brakes were last in action on Tuesday night, where they were beaten 1-0 by Alfreton, which is their third consecutive league defeat.
If they want to claim their first win of 2020, then they’ll have to perform better than they did when they visited the Pure Stadium back in November.
David Morgan was in excellent form, as he bagged a hat-trick in a strong 4-1 victory for the Port.
Leamington’s consolation goal came through Josh March from the penalty spot.
The striker had been a key player for the Brakes, scoring 16 goals, but his January departure to Forest Green Rovers has been a miss.
With another away trip for the Port, a victory will be the target to continue their upward curve.
