Southport will be hoping to continue their current strong run of form as they travel to United Boston on Saturday afternoon.
After last week’s over Scarborough Athletic in the Emirates FA Cup, Liam Watson’s side return to Vanarama National League North action as they travel east.
Their opponents Boston, have started the season off in similar vein to the Port, with both sides sitting on 16 points.
Whilst in the cup they came away 4-0 winners against Stamford, the Pilgrims will need to improve on their last league performance following a 3-0 defeat away to Gateshead.
That was only the second defeat of the season for Craig Elliot’s side, with the other coming in an away game against Gloucester.
Meanwhile, at home Boston have create somewhat of a fortress.
In five games at York Street this campaign, they have won three and drawn two.
The most notable result was a 5-0 win over Altrincham, with Tom Platt and Dominic Knowles contributing with two goals each.
The Pilgrims’ top scorer so far this season is Jordan Thewlis, who has netted four in the opening two months and could prove to be a threat to the Southport defence.
Liam Watson will be hoping that his side can produce a similar result to the last time they visited North Street, as they came away 2-1 winners, with a late Ryan Astles goal grabbing the three points.
Meanwhile when the pair met at the Pure Stadium back in March, it was Boston who came away victorious, with a 3-2 win.
The Port will be after an improved result this time round and to come away with a good victory to continue their current form.
