Dozens of Southport town centre businesses were forced to close up shop early yesterday after a huge power cut.
A number of shops, cafes and restaurants all in the town hall gardens area of the town had to lose out on much-needed revenue after a power cut forced them to close.
It’s thought nearby utilities work had interrupted power to a number of businesses like The Pavilion Restaurant and Jasper’s Sweets, who then announced to their customers they had no choice but to close.
While some did still have power, there wasn’t enough to keep businesses fully operational.
Energy workers have since said they have restored full power and all businesses have now reopened.
