Sefton Council has confirmed that only “some” areas that did not have their green bin collected earlier this week will be revisited.
Hundreds of residents who were expecting a final green bin collection of the year, were earlier this week surprised to find that Sefton Council had moved the final collection one week earlier due to “unavoidable operational pressures.”
Sefton Council has now confirmed that cleansing teams are working hard to revisit “some” areas, but did not confirm which areas these will be. Those who miss out have been advised to take their refuse to the tip.
A spokesperson for Sefton Council said: “Due to unavoidable operational pressures, the decision was taken to move the last green bin collection to the week earlier than previously anticipated.
“This change was posted on our website and social media channels in the month leading up to the change and we would encourage residents to follow our channels and pass the message on when these unexpected changes are communicated.
“Any excess green waste can be taken to the nearest Household Waste Recycling Centre or composted at home.
“For those residents who missed the final collection date, the local authority’s incredibly hard-working cleansing teams will be attempting to revisit some areas where outstanding green bins have been left out for collection.
“A full garden waste collection service will resume in March 2022”
