Pontins evacuated after fire in main hall.

Terrified holiday makers had to be evacuated from their chalets at Pontins earlier today when a fire broke out in the main hall.

Firefighters rushed to the Ainsdale holiday camp and were on seen for over an hour while they put out the blaze, which later was revealed to have been only a minor incident.

However at the time guests were left totally in the dark as to what was going on and were forced to evacuate for their own safety.

Two appliances from Formby and Southport Fir & Rescue service attended the scene.

A spokesperson for Britannia Hotels refused to comment when contacted by OTS News.
