Police thank public following Giants success
Merseyside Police has thanked the public for helping to make the Giants event a success on Saturday.
Superintendent Mark Morgan said: “We recognise that the ‘Liverpool’s Dream’ Giants event has, as expected and planned for, proved extremely popular.
“There were large crowds today and our officers, stewards and event organisers have worked hard to ensure all those attending remained safe.
“The behaviour of the public has been excellent throughout the event and we would like to thank them for their co-operation and patience, which has enabled visitors to enjoy the day and helped to create a celebratory and good-natured atmosphere for all.
“We would ask that visitors coming to see the Giant Spectacular on Sunday plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys.
“There will be road closures in place, and we join organisers in asking that people continue to use public transport to see the event, with extra bus and train services laid on to help get the crowds to and from the city centre.”
