Police are taking their fight against knife crime into the classrooms in an attempt to educate youngsters against the dangers of carrying such weapons.
A national week of action was launched on Monday and will run until Sunday, September 23 with forces aiming to combat the growing concern of young people arming themselves with knives.
Officers in Merseyside are going to give talks in local schools, as well as carry out a social media campaign targeting teenagers and young people. They also plan to do ‘test purchasing’ in shops.
Locals can also expect to see increased police activity and police presence in key areas believed to be hotspots for knife crime.
