Police have arrested a man in Southport Town Centre this morning after reports of a machete type knife being brandished during a disagreement.
OTS understands an argument broke out between two men on Eastbank Street at 9.30am this morning and one individual is alleged to have brandished a ‘machete’ style knife during the altercation.
Detectives were called and swooped on the pair, making one arrest.
It’s understood a bladed item was secured by officers during the incident which happened near to the job centre.
Police were contacted at 9.30am today (Wednesday) to reports a man had threatened another man with a knife during a disagreement on Eastbank Street in Southport.
Patrols attended and arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of affray.
He is currently in custody.
