Police step up patrols after yobs run rampage in Southport

27th October 2019

Patrols of the Marshside and Crossens area of Southport continued yesterday, in response to the recent increase in incidents of anti-social behaviour and criminal damage in those areas.

More victims of crime were visited in the afternoon and calling cards were left at the addresses of other victims who were not at home. We will continue to make these visits over the coming week. If you have not seen us or had a card through your door, please contact us by direct message with your crime number and we will ensure you are seen.

The area was patrolled throughout the evening as well as assisting with other incidents elsewhere in Southport and Formby.

Patrols will continue today and tonight. In addition, we will be meeting with Cambridge ward Councillors today to see if the Council can assist in any way to improve lighting, cutting back of overgrowth or other environmental factors which may help reduce the issues.

Residents in the roads affected should watch for a letter dropping through your door to help us gain further information to help identify those responsible for these incidents. This letter drop will take place some time this week.

Please feel free to come and speak to us when you see us out on patrol in your area.
