An investigation is underway after a late night reveller was allegedly stabbed in a serious assault in the early hours of this morning. Police closed off Waverley Street for a number of hours this morning after reports of a serious assault believed to involve a stabbing occurred around 5.30am. Eye witnesses say an attacker used a blades instrument in the assault but this is currently unconfirmed by officials.
