Merseyside police has stepped up patrols in Botanic Gardens following a number of reports of anti social behaviour in the area.
Last night (Thursday 24 August) the force tweeted tweeted they were in the park.
My 2 year old daughter could have died after choking on laughing gas canister
Worried parents are calling on Park wardens and police to do more to tackle laughing gas canister abuse after a serious incident in Botanic Gardens yesterday.
A toddler was playing in the Churchtown based gardens when he came across a discarded canister and tried to eat it.
His eagle eyed mother managed to rush over and stop her from nearly choking to death on the canister and she wrote to OTS News to voice her fears that a similar incident could happen again if nothing is done.
She hopes if the authorities don’t sit up and take notice, volunteers will and clean up the mess themselves.
She said: “if it wasn’t for some quick thinking my daughter may have choked to death on one of these laughing gas canisters.
“The Park is littered with them”
