Police officers deployed to ‘man wielding hammer’ in Southport

Merseyside police can confirm that officers are in the Southport area following an incident this morning, Tuesday 14 August.

At around 8.25am, a call was received of a man in his 40s in Grantham Close, making threats and in possession of a hammer. No persons were injured.

He was reported as walking in the direction of Lincoln Road and has since been located at an address in Grantham Close. A containment is currently in place at the location.
