Police issue travel guidance after Met Office weather warning

@MetOfficeUK have issued weather warnings for the north west, of heavy rain and high winds across the whole weekend. Coastal areas may see gusts of 50mph or higher.

Care will be needed from drivers on coastal routes and the Formby By-Pass, especially for drivers of high sided vehicles. Motorcyclists and cyclists should find alternative transport where possible.

Please secure wheely bins, garden furniture and other items that could blow into traffic. Pedestrians should be mindful of loose debris blowing around.

High winds can lead to high demand on the emergency services. Please help reduce demand by following this guidance.
