Police officers on their way to the way to an emergency call accidentally collided with a taxi in Southport.
Two police officers and a passenger in a taxi cab suffered minor injuries after both cars collided with each other at the junction of Sussex Road and St Luke’s Road just after midnight this morning.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said “We can confirm that officers were in Southport following a road traffic collision in the early hours of this morning, Thursday 19 August.
“At around 12.45am, reports were received of a police car in collision with a private hire taxi at the junction of St Lukes Road and Sussex Road.
“Two officers received minor injuries and a taxi passenger received slight injuries. The police car was en route to a 999 call.
“Both vehicles were recovered and the road was reopened around 2.40am.”
