Police hunting driver who fled scene of Southport crash

Police are hunting the driver of a white Ford Fiesta after it smashed into a car on Virginia Street last night.

The speeding car was turning a corner towards Eastbank Street, Southport when it rear ended a Renault causing it to be written off (Wednesday 1 November 2017).

The force of the crash also shunted a Vauxhall corset causing minor bumper damage.

In a panic the driver of the Ford and their passenger fled the scene while worried residents rushed out of the their homes to investigate what happened.

Police are appealing for anyone with any information to come forward and call them on 101.
