Police hunting occupants of stolen car that fled Southport crash

Mereyside Police were called to Crowland steet last night (Monday 23 April) following a report of a head on collision at the junction Canning Road.

A red stolen Suzuki had crashed into a Mercedes at around 10:10pm.

In a panic the driver of the stolen red Suzuki and the passenger fled the scene (both male) while worried residents rushed out of the their homes to investigate what happened.

The driver of the of the Mercedes was treated at the scene before being transferred to Southport hospital.

Police are appealing for anyone with any information to come forward and call them on 101.
